This week, SCSP Chair Dr. Eric Schmidt testified before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on the Future of AI Technology, Human Discovery, and American Global Competitiveness. He highlighted the need for more energy in order to fuel the AI race with China. If you missed it, watch it here.

The AI+ Summit Series
Over the past seven months, the SCSP AI+ Summit series convened over 2,000 attendees from across sectors to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence with Energy, Robotics, Compute/Connectivity, and Biotechnology. Highlights include:
🔋 AI+Energy: 417 attendees joined us for a discussion of the soaring demand of AI on power grids, with keynote speakers Bill Gates, Senator Brian Schatz, and Dr. Eric Schmidt, pointing to solutions in fusion, nuclear, and geothermal energy.
🤖 AI+Robotics: 363 participants attended a summit on AI’s integration with robotics and the workforce transformation ahead. Anne Neuberger, Marc Raibert, and James Cameron all emphasized the urgent need for national strategy and ethical frameworks.
💻 AI+Compute & Connectivity: 524 guests participated in a discussion on semiconductor security, infrastructure resilience, and U.S. global tech leadership, with insights from Senator Mark Warner, Dr. Whitney Mason (DARPA), Pat Gelsinger, and Senator Ted Cruz.
🧬 AI+Biotech: At a final summit in collaboration with the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology, 751 attendees joined us, while keynote speakers including Dr. Eric Schmidt, Senator Todd Young and Ginkgo Bioworks CEO, Jason Kelly charted a future of AI-enabled biomanufacturing, inclusive workforce development, and global health leadership.

We developed something special with our partners at Coursera. We recently launched a brand new course on their public platform, AI in National Security: Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Public Sector Missions. Over 1,000 people have enrolled!
